Plus a lot of the he's of that era included new animations/stories. Zeonic Front was highly challenging, you had to be careful with what suits and equipment you sent out on missions, and combat engagements had to be carefully planned or your whole team would get wrecked. Encounters in space had faster 3D combat and the space levels were awesome for their time, something Bamco has entirely given up. Journey to Jaburo had slower combat, but that turned combat into an almost dark souls like experience where you had to bait the enemy into lowering defenses before you could safely attack. I praise the PS2 games because they played on par with other games of the era, they had varied gameplay, some even included fully 3D space battles, and they had story modes.īamco actually made an effort in that era.
